There are a few possible dates to keep in mind when you’re applying to MSU. Make sure you familiarize yourself with the application deadlines and start dates so you’re prepared to apply.

Start your online application by choosing the program you’re interested in. Remember to save your progress as you complete the form.
Pay a non-refundable $65 application fee, which is necessary for all online graduate criminal justice programs with MSU.
Order and submit official transcripts from each school you have attended.

Transferring to MSU
With the approval of the School of Criminal Justice Graduate Committee, our online master’s degrees can accept up to nine graduate-level transfer credits from a regionally accredited institution that offers comparable coursework and course descriptions.
Our Cyber Criminology and Cyber Security Graduate Certificate does not accept transfer credits.
Education for Active Military, Veterans and Their Families
MSU is a Yellow Ribbon participant and approved for the GI Bill®. Our Student Veterans Resource Center offers a variety of resources to military members and their families, such as

Military SupportMSU Welcomes International Students
Along with the online application and the requirements listed above, international candidates should submit the following.
TOEFL or IELTS Scores:
- TOEFL: Minimum 80 overall; minimum 19 for Reading, Listening and Speaking sections, and 22 for the Writing section
OR
- IELTS: Average score of 6.5

The first step is to start your application.
Yes. With approval of the SCJ Graduate Committee, our online graduate programs can accept up to nine (9) graduate-level transfer credits from a regionally accredited institution that offers comparable coursework and course descriptions.
Once an application is complete with all required materials, it will take approximately two to three weeks for the committee to make an admissions recommendation.
